Changed traffic conditions on Morpeth Bridge, M1 to Raymond Terrace

SHARE

Transport for NSW (TfNSW) will undertake several projects during the week, which could impact motorists throughout the Hunter.

There’ll be changed traffic conditions on the Morpeth Bridge, from Monday 5 February, to carry out essential routine maintenance.

It includes installing support brackets on the structure.

As a result, and to minimise any disruption to locals and visitors alike, the work is being carried out from 9am to 3pm.

It’s expected to be completed by Thursday 28 March, weather permitting.

“We’ll have a single lane closure on the approach to the bridge,” a TfNSW spokesperson said.

“Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will also be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.”

Meanwhile, work is continuing on the M1 Pacific Motorway extension to Raymond Terrace, the Black Hill to Tomago project.

Lane closures and temporary speed reductions are scheduled for:

  • Pacific Highway northbound and southbound shoulder closures north of Tomago Road from 8pm to 5am, Monday 5 February to Friday 9 February
  • Maitland Road/New England Highway westbound shoulder closure north of Hexham from 8pm to 5am, Tuesday 6 February
  • Lenaghans Drive alternating northbound and southbound closure under stop-go traffic management from 7am to 5pm, Monday 5 February to Friday 9 February
  • Pacific Motorway M1 northbound and southbound shoulder closure south of John Renshaw Drive from 8pm to 5am, Monday 5 February to Friday 9 February
  • New England Highway eastbound and westbound shoulder closure at Tarro from 8pm to 5am, Monday 5 February to Friday 9 February
  • Anderson Drive to Maitland Road onramp shoulder closure from 7am to 8pm, Monday 5 February to Friday 9 February. Night work will be carried out from 8pm to 5am, Monday 5 February to Friday 9 February

“Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and follow the directions of signs and traffic controllers,” the spokesperson said.

“We thank everyone for their patience during this time.” For the latest traffic updates, download the Live Traffic NSW app, visit livetraffic.com or phone 132 701.
