3,2,1… Fireworks to signal start of Lake Mac Festival 2024

SHARE

Fireworks exploding from floating pontoons, entertainment, food trucks, markets, kids’ activities, bacon and egg sandwiches, and a sausage sizzle are among the list of highlights expected at the 2024 Lake Mac Festival.

The free community celebration will take place on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 January, with activations peppered throughout the area.

On Saturday, the shores of Lake Macquarie are expected to be filled with friends and families soaking up the Light up the Lake event – a spectacular fireworks display spanning four locations.

Lake Mac Festival 2024 is set to explode with fireworks on 20 and 21 January.

And, while the sky explodes with colour above, the grass is expected to be covered in picnic blankets, as revellers enjoy food and drinks from the various onsite food trucks.

Prime viewing sites include the foreshore at Warners Bay and Toronto, Brooks Parade Reserve in Belmont, and Speers Point Park.

Food and drink vendors will be onsite from 5pm to 9pm at each site, with fireworks kicking off at 9pm.

Belmont’s Brooks Parade Reserve will also feature Twilight Markets with an array of stalls selling popular items from 3pm to 9pm.

Local community groups will be cooking up a storm with a range of breakfast favourites including pancakes, fruit salad, yogurt and cereals, bacon and egg sandwiches and of course the Aussie staple, the humble sausage sizzle.

Other family-friendly activities include a free yoga session, kids’ activities and entertainment.
