Police have launched an investigation after local firefighters extinguished a stolen truck, which was set on fire, in Lake Macquarie overnight.
About 9.30pm on Sunday 22 October, Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews were called to Warners Bay Road at Mount Hutton.
There, a tanker and pumper from the Tingira Heights Fire Station found a small, tray-top truck well alight.
Firefighters doused the blaze and declared the scene safe within half-an-hour.
Inquiries revealed the vehicle had been stolen and dumped, before being torched.
Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident.
