Lakefront home could float your boat for less than $2.6 million

Its real estate agent describes this four-bedroom, three-bathroom home as ‘absolute waterfront’.

Located on what locals refer to as ‘The Golden Mile’, this covetable Coal Point Road property is a boater’s paradise – complete with its own boatshed, a jetty, and swing mooring.

If that’s not enough water features for you then Altitude Real Estate’s David Westerman suggests you could try the below-ground saltwater lap pool, indoor spa, or sauna.

And, at just 14-years-old, this architecturally-designed home sitting on 744 sq/m is low-maintenance, allowing more time to enjoy the lifestyle it offers.

For current homeowners Shelagh and George, the decision to return to Sydney to be closer to family comes with a tinge of sadness.

“It’s the most peaceful place we have ever lived,” they told Newcastle Weekly.

“You can entertain 12 months of the year as the house is protected and offers such good privacy.

“The neighbours are beautiful and the area has a very strong sense of community.”

The home itself is split across two levels, both with plenty of balconies and courtyards to enjoy the views.

All living and dining areas are open-plan suggesting entertaining is an easy pastime in the home.

The interiors are crisp, white and simple, offering a spacious, relaxed feel.

But it is the location, David explains, that makes it a stand out.

“It faces into Kilaben Bay so it’s protected from the winds,” he says.

“It’s very, very private.

“Once you’re down the driveway no one comes near you, it’s just you and your boat, and maybe your jet ski too.

“Coal Point is arguably the best waterfront suburb in Lake Macquarie and it doesn’t get more waterfront than this.

“If you took this home and placed it in Pittwater it’d cost you $10 million plus.

“If you took it anywhere on the harbour [Sydney] it’d cost you anywhere upwards of $30 million.

“Yet you can take your boat from your doorstep through the Swansea channel to any of a number of amazing boating locations we have nearby and you get to come home to this.”
