Ingredients

  • 1/2 Tbsp cocoa butter
  • 1 Tbsp candelilla wax
  • 1 Tbsp shea butter
  • 1 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 Tbsp jojoba oil
  • 1tsp cacao powder
  • 4 drops peppermint essential oil
  • 4 x 10ml paper lip balm tubes or 3 x 15ml containers of choice

Method

  1. In a mason jar or glass jug, add the shea butter, cocoa butter, candelilla wax, coconut oil and jojoba oil.
  2. Place the jar or jug into a saucepan filled with approximately 5cm of water. Turn the heat to medium-low and heat until the wax has melted. Stir occasionally.
  3. Remove the jar from heat and stir in the cacao powder and essential oil. Mix well until all the ingredients are combined.
  4. Carefully pour the mixture into your lip balm tubes or containers. Leave to cool completely before sealing with the lid. This will ensure there is no moisture build up inside the lid, which could ruin your batch. Store out of direct sunlight and away from heat.
  5. Use as you normally would use a lip balm. Use within 6-9 months.
