Georgetown on the CREST of development

SHARE

Georgetown is the latest Newcastle suburb set for large-scale residential development, with construction to begin on a multi-floor high-rise building in coming days.

CREST Georgetown will consist of 23 one, two and three-bedroom apartments.

Located on Georgetown Road, the GWH development is expected to be completed in early 2024.

It is just one of GWH’s current residential developments, joining ONE Apartments in Newcastle West, and Macquarie Tower in Charlestown, as well as an expression of interest campaign running on ELEMENT Apartments in Newcastle West.

GWH managing director Jonathan Craig believes Georgetown’s vibrant village feel should appeal to those hoping to join the Newcastle real estate market.

“Georgetown’s café, restaurant and boutique retail offerings align to foster a true urban, village-living feel within this tightly held suburb,” he said.

The sentiment was echoed by GWH development manager Lee Bateman, who noted the importance of thoughtful architectural decision making when retaining a village-feel synonymous with Georgetown.

“CREST Georgetown’s 23 architecturally designed apartments are complemented by two ground floor retail spaces, helping retain the traditional characteristics of Georgetown Road,” he said

“The building’s interiors are complemented by a traditional yet modern brickwork façade that pays homage to the historic elements of the suburb, integrating the building into the fabric of the community.”

The CREST apartments are modelled on a similar development at Lambton.

“121Elder located at Elder Street, Lambton provides a great example of our capability to deliver boutique residential developments that seamlessly integrate into the architectural fabric of a community,” Mr Craig explained.

“The successes achieved upon 121Elder’s completion in 2020 is something we will be striving to replicate at CREST Georgetown.”

The CREST apartments will be equipped with Smartstone benchtops, SMEG appliances and a choice of warm or cool interior design schemes.

They will be accentuated by access to a private, resident-only alfresco garden sanctuary, with the outdoor communal space equipped with a kitchenette and BBQ facilities for entertaining.

“We’re extremely excited to have the opportunity to deliver another boutique residential development within our local region,” added Mr Craig.

GWH is a Hunter-based company delivering large residential developments including SKY Residences & AERO in Newcastle West, Highpoint in Charlestown plus a number of boutique developments such as Soho Central in Hamilton, Centrale Broadmeadow and 121Elder Lambton.

GWH has completed more than 640 homes in the past five years.
