SHARE

This week marks the beginning of Maitland Regional Art Gallery’s Free Art January, featuring a range of hands-on activities for audiences of all ages to enjoy this school holidays.

People, young and old, can experience a Roving Art Tutor from Tuesdays to Fridays, 10am to 10pm, or join multiple workshops across the month, including habitat building and creativity adaptation.

Free Art Sunday is also available for families; expressive drawing and animation for teens; and Sip & Sketch with local artists Rosie Turner and Lucas Grogan for adults.

On Wednesday 20 January, between 1pm and 2pm, residents and visitors alike are able to meet renowned Australian artist Andrew Sullivan as he discusses work on display in the current exhibition, Survey into the Cretaceous.

Free Art Sunday continues weekly from 10.30am to 12.30pm, where people of all ages can let their creativity run wild with all materials provided, thanks to the support of Cleverpatch and the Maitland Regional Art Gallery Members.

Just remember, the centre is closed every Monday, as well as Australia Day (Tuesday 26 January).

Bookings are essential for each Free Art January event.
