Little Festival to make big impression on New Lambton

SHARE

From yarn bombing and tiny art to paste-ups, sticker stories, graff and more, Little Festival is making a big impression throughout the region.

And, in 2024, it’s heading to New Lambton.

On Saturday 23 March, between 10am and 2pm, the event will take over Alma Road and Regent Street with intriguing and curious small scale and miniature art offerings by 17 artists: 085c3n3, Alanya van de Wiel, Ben Kenning, CRISP, KEOB, Family of Friendly Monsters, Gab Rigg Art, Galactic Lego All Stars, Goya Torres, HOUL, Jenny McCracken, Jen Denzin, Michael Pederson, Mini Zine Libraries, PixelsbyJax, sewersidedream3r and Tinky.

Little Festival, funded by City of Newcastle’s Special Business Rate (SBR) program, is a celebration of the urban environment and the “little things” that do as much to define it as huge murals, giant billboards and acclaimed architecture.

Launched in October 2022 in Newcastle as an inclusive and diverse street art format, it’s continued to tour urban areas in the Hunter including Maitland (2023) and Mayfield (2024).

“I noticed there was a need for more diverse programming and curation in the street art industry,” director and producer Jacinta Fintan said.

“So, I developed Little Festival to respond to and address it.

“Visitors can expect to experience New Lambton differently as they follow the curated walking trail of smaller-scale installations in the suburb’s most intriguing spaces, along Alma Road, Regent Street, in laneways and the shrouded from view.

“It also incorporates ‘live’ street art and graffiti painting, miniature installations, pop-up exhibitions, a free art workshop for kids and activations throughout the day.”

All activities and events are free.

Festival maps and programs will be available from shops and cafes on the day or head to littefestival.com
