The Dudley Redhead Senior Football Club is one of the big winners from the latest round of the 2022 Community Building Partnership Program.

The Charlestown electorate secured $399,131 in funding for a total of 20 projects through the initiative.

And, the local soccer organisation, riding high after the success of the Socceroos at the FIFA World Cup, collected $40,617 towards community safety and protection ball nets.

Others to benefit include the Canteen Hunter Cancer Hub, Trees in Newcastle, Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) Cardiff, Cancer Council NSW Charlestown, Dudley Redhead Junior Rugby League Football Club, Newcastle Junior Cricket Association, Police Citizens Youth Club Lake Macquarie, Newcastle Football Limited, Garden Suburb Junior Football Club, Adamstown New Lambton Athletics Club, Life Education NSW Healthy Harold Mobile Learning Centre, Warners Bay Public School P&C Association, Girl Guides Association Charlestown, Kotara Bowling and Recreation Club, Combined Northern Canine Committee, Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Canoe Academy Outrigger Club.

Charlestown state MP Jodie Harrison said the program would deliver much-needed improvements to local facilities, including funding a sound-proof pod within the Hunter Cancer Hub.

“This is fantastic for Charlestown,” she stated.

“There are so many incredible local organisations delivering for our community every day.

“This funding will allow them to continue and build on the wonderful work they are doing for the electorate.

“I congratulate those that were successful and look forward to seeing how these projects make a real difference for community groups in the area.”
