One of the major thoroughfares in the Hunter will be temporarily closed this weekend, while crews finish a new roundabout near Whittingham.
A spokesperson for Transport for NSW said the Golden Highway – which welcomes thousands of vehicles on a daily basis – would be inaccessible between the New England Highway and Range Road, about 5km east of Singleton, on Saturday 9 September.
Work is scheduled to take place between 7am and 6pm.
The roundabout will eventually connect the Golden Highway to the New England Highway and the flyover bridge.
“We want to thank everyone for their patience during this time,” the spokesperson said.
“Motorists will be detoured via Range Road and the New England Highway.
“That is expected to add up to 10 minutes of extra travel time, so people are advised to plan ahead, drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.”
