Australian music royalty Tim Rogers, as well as Vika and Linda Bull, will headline the latest edition of the Dashville Skyline later this year.

The You Am I frontman is joining his delectable band The Twin Set at the cosmic country weekender, which takes place from Friday 29 September to Sunday 1 October, in Lower Belford.

The event’s first round of acts also includes powerful blues soul singer Karen Lee Andrews, popular folk-rock outfit Hussy Hicks, hugely-talented songwriter Jack Davies, Geelong-based Bones and Jones, Queenie, New Zealand’s Jenny Mitchell, T.C. Jones, vintage southern rockers Sweet Talk, The Settlement, Northern River’s country punks Jimmy Willing & The Real Gone Hick Ups, Willie J & The Bad Books, and Echuca-born wildman Watty Thompson.

“Dashville Skyline is a celebration of alternative country music and the surrounding roots culture in its varied forms,” organiser Matt “Magpie” Johnston said.

“The ultra-chilled countrified camping festival will host more than 40 performances across three stages.

“Plus, you can savour mouth-watering American-inspired food and bevvies, trawl the boutique vintage market stalls, visit the music history exhibit, join the animal petting zoo, partake in a guitar-and-car show and shine.

“These are just a few of the things this great family-orientated event offers.

“We’re delighted Tim Rogers is among the big names heading here for the long weekend.

“And, the Bull sisters, Vika and Linda, need no introduction either, having worked on three classic albums with The Black Sorrows as well as records for Paul Kelly, Kasey Chambers and John Farnham.

“A second line-up release, and program, is anticipated soon.”

The festival’s name derives from Bob Dylan’s 1968 release Nashville Skyline, which lends an impression of the vibe of the event.

“That’s when alternative country was born in America during the 60s/70s, the culture that surrounds the music and the evolution that continues to inspire modern-day songwriters,” Johnston said.

“One of our main spectacles is the immensely-popular Sunset Super Round.

“On Saturday, at nightfall, artists on the bill merge around the main stage in spontaneous collaboration, to pay homage to their favourite songs of the ‘golden era’.”

Tickets for Dashville Skyline 2023 are on sale now at the Dashville Store.
