Flights will take off at Newcastle Airport for the first time since the pandemic started.
Jetstar is offering its maiden flight at 5.50pm today (Wednesday 17 June) to land in Melbourne at 7.30pm.
It will cost $59 one way, and there are still plenty of seats left.
At this stage, flights will also run on Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
According to the Jetstar website, the airline will also be running flights from Newcastle to Brisbane on 10 July for $89.
On the same day, you will be able to travel to the Gold Coast for $88.
That’s all dependent on Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk re-opening the borders, which she has said she will not confirm the official date until the end of June.
FlyPelican will also depart Newcastle Airport at 1.30pm bound for Sydney at a cost of $109 one way.
The company will fly to Canberra tomorrow at 4.30pm and Ballina (Byron Bay) at 4.55pm.
