Nineteen Maitland projects receive vital funds

SHARE

The Rotary Club of East Maitland, Awabakal Ltd and St John Ambulance were among the big winners from the latest round of the NSW Government’s 2021 Community Building Partnership (CBP) program.

The Maitland electorate secured $400,000 in funding for 19 projects.

The Rotary Club of East Maitland picked up $62,000, Awabakal Ltd will spend $48,978 towards health care in the home throughout Maitland and St John Ambulance will benefit to the tune of $45,270 for a new vehicle.

Maitland state MP Jenny Aitchison said the state government funds would deliver much-needed improvements to facilities that’ll assist a wide range of organisations across the community.

“This grassroots funding will directly help create a more vibrant and inclusive local community with positive outcomes for sporting and community organisations, children and families, charitable and cultural groups,” she explained.

“I congratulate all the organisations that were successful in their application and look forward to seeing how these projects make a real difference for community groups in the area.

“To all of Maitland’s applicants, I say a big thank you for taking the time to nominate your project in what has been an extremely challenging year for many people.”

The CBP program has funded more than 16,000 projects since it started in 2009.

In 2022, there will again be $400,000 to allocate in each electorate.
