Firefighters from Tarro and New Lambton helped other emergency services with a rescue this morning after two trucks and a car were involved in an accident at Hexham.

The incident occurred just south of the bridge on the New England Highway.

The driver of the car was trapped and the Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews stabilised the vehicle before he was removed by NSW Ambulance rescue.

Crews also cleaned up an oil spill on the road.
