Numerous road works scheduled throughout Hunter

Transport for NSW (TfNSW) employees will be extremely busy this week, with numerous projects scheduled for the Hunter.

That includes changed traffic conditions at Teralba to carry out maintenance work on the Five Island Bridge from 7pm on Wednesday 17 April to 4am on Thursday 18 April, weather permitting.

A similar upkeep operation is planned for the New England Highway at Beresfield from 7pm on Thursday 18 April until 4am on Friday 19 April.

“Traffic control, northbound lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place during our work for the safety of workers and motorists,” a TfNSW spokesperson said.

“So, please drive to the conditions and follow the directions.

“We thank everyone for their patience during this time.”

Meanwhile, construction work continues along the M1 Pacific Motorway extension to Raymond Terrace.

The Black Hill to Tomago project requires further lane closures and temporary speed reductions at the following locations and times:

  • Pacific Highway southbound intermittent speed reduction (vehicle escorts) north of Old Punt Road, from 7am to 5pm, Monday 15 April to Thursday 18 April
  • Lenaghans Drive alternating northbound and southbound lane and shoulder closure from 7am to 5pm, Monday 15 April to Thursday 18 April
  • M1 Pacific Motorway northbound and southbound lane closure from 7pm to 5am on Monday 15 April, Tuesday 16 April and Thursday 18 April
  • New England Highway westbound lane closure from Tarro overpass to John Renshaw Drive, from 7pm to 5am, on Monday 15 April, Tuesday 16 April and Thursday 18 April

“Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and follow the directions of signs and traffic controllers,” the spokesperson added.
