A concert in Charlestown will showcase some of the region’s best young talent.
The child prodigies and maturing pianists, aged from six to 26, are set to perform at Raise the Roof – Young Champions of 2019 on Saturday 21 March from 2pm.
Pianists Brian Chung, Lucas Leung, Cameron Lu, Markus Lim, Eva Reimann, Carlie Ng, Dimitri He and Hannah Gibbons will play a wide selection of works from Beethoven to Scriabin, Kabalevsky to Chopin, Grieg to Seiber & Debussy.
Young singers are Ryan Jayathilaka, Lily Szabo, Layla Rose Schillert, Lucy Higgins-Black, and Kirsten Busby with her beautiful companion dog.
The audience will also hear songs from early composer John Dowling, Johann Sebastian Bach, Schubert, and excerpts from musicals and film, while violinist Nicole Nelmes is due to play her spectacular Rumanian Dances of Bartok.
The concert will take place at Charlestown Uniting Church (Milson Street, Charlestown).
Cost is $25 adults and $20 concession.
