A report is being prepared for the Coroner after a woman died in a single-vehicle accident in the Upper Hunter on Tuesday evening.
Emergency services were called to Scone Road, about 5km north of Merriwa, just before 6pm on 4 March following details of a crash.
Officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District found an SUV had left the roadway and crashed into a deep culvert, before rolling and coming to rest on its wheels.
The driver, a 67-year-old woman, was assisted by a passing motorist and an officer who performed CPR prior to the arrival of emergency services.
NSW Ambulance paramedics also treated her.
But, tragically, she died at the scene.
A crime scene was established and investigations have started into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
