In tragic circumstances overnight, a woman has died after being struck by a car in Lake Macquarie at the weekend.
Emergency services were called to Wyee Road, near Bethshan Street, Wyee, just after 7pm on Sunday 31 May following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a black sedan.
The 45-year-old was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
But, sadly, she could not be revived.
She’s yet to be formally identified.
The driver – a woman in her 40s – was taken to Wyong Hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District have started an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
