For most of us, 2020 has been a year unlike any other.
A new project called ‘Hometown Holiday’ incentivises local residents to experience the city as a tourist, while also supporting local industry sectors hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Its social media campaign is providing community members with the chance to win one of 100 vouchers, worth $500 each, to spend at participating ‘Hometown Holiday’ businesses, including local accommodation, attractions, tours, restaurants, bars, and retail outlets.
Winners will be drawn weekly from 23 November to 14 December.
Go to Hometown Holiday website for more information.
The project is a joint initiative between the University of Newcastle and City of Newcastle’s City Taskforce Industry Response Team.
