Weekend cricket, Memorial Shield clash washed out

SHARE

Week 16 of the Cessnock District Cricket Association competition was once again affected by rain, with no matches starting due to the constant falls of last Saturday morning and afternoon.

Unfortunately, the Becky Lowder Memorial Shield game between the Piranhas and Supporters in fourth grade was also prevented from being played.

Hence, the Piranhas retain the silverware they had previously held for the past two years.

The team’s skipper Paul Crocker is the father and Debbie Lowder the mother of Becky, who at the age of 12 unfortunately lost her battle with cancer back in July 2014.
