An incredible day of art, creativity and fun returns to Mayfield this weekend with bigger and better installations than ever before.
Boasting a huge line-up of local artists, the Mayfield Arts Trail will encompass Maitland Road, and surrounding areas, on Saturday 13 January between 10am and 2pm.
It follows the extravaganza’s successful debut in 2023, a collaboration between the Mayfield Business Improvement Association Inc, Little Festival and Up & Up, which was a massive hit among the community.
This time around, Jordan Lucky, Tinky Sonntag, KEOB, Ruby Rickard Designs, Shan Primrose Art, James Jenkins, Broken Hartist, 085c3n3, Sewersidedream3r and Mini Zine Library are among the gifted creatives on show, according to Hunter Events Group director Louise Manning.
“2024 is set to start off with a bold new splash of colour as local artists take to the streets,” she said.
“Immerse yourself in a one-off cultural experience and get in touch with your creative side, no matter your age with our art scavenger hunt, roaming entertainers, kids fun and more.
“Best of all, it’s free for everyone.
“This cultural epicentre, known for its niche cafes and shops, will become a hub of creativity.
“Follow the map beginning at Onyx Espresso Bar to discover the murals and complete the art quiz, finishing at Castle Personnel where there will be a community mural taking place.
“The first 100 to complete the scavenger hunt and quiz will win a prize.”

Manning said the Mayfield Arts Trail was a fully immersive experience, which allowed people to get in touch with their artsy, creative side.
“This event wants to spotlight local talent and emerging artists and bring a flood of life, murals and street art to this trendy suburb and artist’s playground,” she explained.
“Embark on a trail through the streets of Mayfield discovering amazing artworks, sculptures and installations proudly presented by the Little Festival.
“Discover a ‘live’ continuation of local artist Jordan Lucky’s eye-catching mural on the corner of Roe Street and Maitland Road.
“Or, unleash your imagination by participating in an interactive community mural.
“It’ll give you an opportunity to get hands-on with the artists thanks to incredible local talent Up & Up.”
The community mural will take place at Castle Personnel Mayfield, located at 85 Maitland Road, between 10am and 2pm, while maps and pens can be picked up from Onyx Espresso Bar at the start of the trail.
