Police have arrested two teenagers after a couple of security guards were assaulted at a Glendale shopping centre.

At the scene, police were told a pair of teens – a boy and girl – had entered a shop before allegedly stealing some items.

A 31-year-old security guard approached the duo and retrieved the goods.

However, he was assaulted by the boy.

A short time later, a member of the public, aged 38, came to the assistance of the security guard.

It’s believed the 15-year-old hit the man in the head with a water bottle and bit him twice on the arm.

A second security guard intervened, however he was assaulted by the girl, too.

He suffered a suspected fractured cheekbone.

Police arrived and arrested a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl.

They were taken to Toronto Police Station.

There, the boy was charged with breach of bail, shoplifting, and assault person with intent to resist/prevent apprehension.

The girl was charged with breach of bail, and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in the company of others.

Both were refused bail to appear before a children’s court.
