Two teenagers are expected to face court on Thursday after being charged with the death of a man at Lake Macquarie last week.
Emergency services were called to a home on Mahogany Crescent, Gateshead, about 11pm on 9 January following a concern for welfare.
A 37-year-old male was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
But, sadly, he died at the scene.
Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District established a crime scene and started inquiries into the incident.
A postmortem conducted on Monday 13 January revealed the man sustained several stab wounds.
Following an extensive investigation, under Strike Force Bradley by local police and the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, a search warrant was executed at a home on Long Crescent, Shortland, about 5.30pm on Wednesday 15 January.
An 18-year-old male and 19-year-old female were arrested and taken to Belmont Police Station.
The man was charged with murder (DV), and threat/cause injury/harm to prevent information to police.
The woman was charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
Both were refused bail to appear before Belmont Local Court on Thursday 16 January.
