Two men have a date with court after allegedly stealing $100,000 worth of equipment in the Upper Hunter.
Officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District started an investigation following reports of a break-in at a property on Pembroke Road, Cassilis.
It’s understood the stolen items included two Honda quad bikes, fuel, power tools, cattle tags and drench.
Following inquiries, officers located and seized a quad bike and box trailer on Aly Street, Kayuga.
Then, on Tuesday 19 May, a 27-year-old male was arrested at Muswellbrook Police Station and charged with dispose motor vehicle part-theft=serious indictable offence more than $5,000 and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.
After being granted conditional bail, he’ll front Muswellbrook Local Court on Tuesday 14 July.
Investigators also executed search warrants at homes in Muswellbrook and Aberdeen between 7.30am and 8.30am on Thursday 21 May.
It’s claimed they confiscated power tools, trail cams, electronic devices, copper cabling, mobile phones, and farming equipment, all believed to be stolen.
A 46-year-old man was arrested, taken to Muswellbrook Police Station and charged with:
- Knowingly deal with proceeds of crime
- Dispose motor vehicle part-theft=serious indictable offence more than $5,000
- Fail to provide adequate exercise to confined animal
- Passenger not disclose driver’s/other passenger’s identity
He was granted conditional bail to appear before Newcastle Local Court on Wednesday 22 July.
