Time is running out to enter the prestigious Hunter Region Business Excellence Awards.
Nominations for the 28th edition of the extravaganza, which highlights outstanding individuals and companies throughout the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Port Stephens, Cessnock, Dungog, Singleton, Muswellbrook and Upper Hunter LGAs, close at midnight on Sunday 12 March.
Sixteen categories – Hospitality & Tourism, Internet-based Business, Personal Services, Professional Services, Health Services, Trades & Industry, Financial & Real Estate Services, Not-for-profit Businesses, Home-based Business, General Business, New Start Business, Customer Service (Individual), Customer Service (Business), Young Entrepreneur, Businesswoman of the Year and Business Leader of the Year – will be adjudged with the overall winner declared Business of the Year at a gala dinner, at the Cessnock Leagues Club, on Friday 19 May.
The Hunter Region Business Excellence Awards bounced back bigger and better in 2021, after COVID forced the cancellation of the 2020 event.
Gymnastics 21 secured Business of the Year, Shane Hamilton walked away with the Business Leader of the Year, and Joplin Higgins was named Businesswoman of the Year.
Amy Foster claimed the Young Entrepreneur crown.
Hunter Region Business Hub (The Hub) digital business advisor Troy White said the event had become a “must-do” for local ventures.
“These awards are perfect for any business that wants to demonstrate its excellence in customer service, innovation or any other area,” he explained.
“And, due to the fact they’re professionally judged, and not a popularity contest, they are a sought-after, trusted source of information for consumers with previous winners and finalists experiencing a significant increase in business afterwards.
