Three women charged following social media brawl at Swansea

Police have charged three women for their alleged involvement in a prearranged brawl for social media earlier this month in Swansea.

About 10.30pm on Friday 2 February, officers from Lake Macquarie Police District were called to a fast-food outlet on the Old Pacific Highway, following reports of an affray.

Despite arriving at the location in quick time, all parties involved had fled the scene.

After speaking with witnesses, police determined that three women had allegedly met at the Swansea site for the purpose of a pre-arranged fight, which was streamed on a social media platform.

Officers received copies of the footage and initiated an investigation into the incident.

Since then, they’ve charged three women, aged 31, 18 and 29, with affray.

They were all issued future court attendance notices to appear before Belmont Local Court.

The 31-year-old woman will face court on Wednesday 6 March, the 18-year-old on Wednesday 13 March and the 29-year-old on Wednesday 3 April.
