Three teenagers have been charged following an investigation into several bottle shop thefts throughout the Hunter.
A search for the perpetrators was launched after detectives linked more than 10 stealing incidents across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie since November 2023.
Following extensive inquiries, police arrested two teens – aged 17 and 18 – in Dudley about 7.30am on Thursday 11 January.
They were both taken to Belmont Police Station.
The 17-year-old boy was charged with 10 counts of larceny, enter vehicle without consent of owner, and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.
He was refused bail to appear before a children’s court on Friday 12 January.
An 18-year-old male was charged with three counts of larceny, and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.
He was refused bail to appear before Belmont Local Court on Friday 12 January.
A search warrant was also conducted at a home on Bradman Street, Charlestown, about 2pm on Thursday 11 January.
Police allegedly located and seized 30 bottles of liquor and a purse believed to have been stolen.
An 18-year-old man was arrested at the property before being taken to Belmont Police Station.
He was charged with two counts of goods suspected stolen in/on premises and granted strict conditional bail to appear before Belmont Local Court on Wednesday 31 January.
