Two teenage boys have been seriously injured following an e-bike accident in Lake Macquarie on Sunday night.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of the Pacific Highway and Evans Street, Belmont, about 8.30pm on 29 March after receiving reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District were told an e-bike had collided with the side of a Holden station wagon, causing the rider and passenger to be thrown off the vehicle.
The 14-year-old boys were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for leg and abrasion injuries before being taken to John Hunter Hospital in serious but stable conditions.
The Holden driver – a 45-year-old man – was uninjured.
Police have started an investigation into the incident with officers seizing the e-bike – which was destroyed on impact – for forensic examination.
