Teenager stabbed to death at Swansea, another fighting for life

One teenager was stabbed to death and another is fighting for his life following a tragic incident in the Hunter overnight.

A third teen is also assisting police with their inquiries.

About 8.20pm on Friday 17 September, emergency services were called to a home on Parbury Road, Swansea.

Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District attended and found two teenage boys with multiple stab wounds to the chest.

Nearby witnesses rendered assistance to one of the youngsters before he was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

However, the 16-year-old died at the scene.

A second boy, also 16, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.

He later underwent surgery, after suffering a substantial loss of blood.

A crime scene was established and an investigation began into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following a search of the area, police located another 16-year-old boy in the backyard of a home on Parbury Road, Swansea, about 9.20pm.

He was arrested and taken to Belmont Police Station, where he is assisting police with their inquiries.

Investigations are continuing.
