A teenager will face court over domestic violence (DV) and firearms-related offences in the Hunter region.
Police attached to Hunter Valley PD were called to a home in Cessnock about 6.30pm on Tuesday 16 September, following reports of a boy being threatened by another teen at a unit complex.
Officers received information a 14-year-old boy was at the premises when another youngster, aged 17 and armed with an alleged firearm, knocked on the door and threatened him.
Inquiries established they were known to each other.
The older teenager left the scene before authorities arrived, however there were no injuries reported.
Then, about 6.40pm, police arrested the 17-year-old at a home in Aberdare.
He was taken to Cessnock Police Station and charged with armed with intent to commit indictable offence (two counts); stalk/intimidate intent fear physical etc harm (three counts); possess unregistered firearm – pistol; possess unregistered firearm-prohibited firearm (two counts); acquire firearm part without authority to do so; possess unregistered firearm-not pistol/prohibited firearm; possess shortened firearm (not pistol) without authority; firearm dealer possess firearm without sighting licence/permit; possess ammunition without holding licence/permit; authority possess more than three unregistered firearms without licence/permit; and possess prohibited drug.
Officers will allege in court the 17-year-old threatened the young boy on Mount View Road, Cessnock, about 12.30pm on Monday 15 September before police were called a day later.
He was refused bail to appear at children’s court on Wednesday 17 September.
About 10pm on the same day, police executed a search warrant at the Aberdare home and allegedly located and seized eight firearms, ammunition and small amount of cannabis leaf.
