A teenage boy has been charged after allegedly damaging a police vehicle with a hammer in Lake Macquarie this week.
It’s understood the incident occurred outside the Belmont Police Station about 3.50pm on Friday 13 March.
Officers found four windows of a parked car had been smashed.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested a short time later along Herbert Street, near Belmont Police Station.
He was subsequently charged with breach of bail; destroy or damage property; armed with intent commit indictable offence; and hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.
After being formally refused bail, he’ll appear before a children’s court on Monday 16 March.
