The wind gods could blow no more yesterday after giving their all during the 2021/22 Red Pumps 13ft and 16ft Skiff Australian Championships hosted by Belmont 16s on Lake Macquarie.
A long-awaited and much-wanted Red Pumps 16ft Skiff Australian Championships was in the spinnaker bag on Friday for Nathan Wilmot, Brett Davis and Malcolm Page aboard Ronstan.
With boat speeds nudging 26 knots, and a nor’east wind strength not far behind, it was survival of the fastest in races six and seven of the 2022 Red Pumps 16ft Skiff Australian Championship, hosted by Belmont 16s on Lake Macquarie.
It’s gold, gold, gold for the 16ft Skiff Australian Championships taking place at Lake Macquarie, from this weekend, as a host of former Olympic champions feature in the 47-strong fleet.
