Do you like the feeling of grapes squishing between your bare toes in an old oak barrel or vat?
If the answer is “yes”, then mark down Sunday 6 February in your diary.
Peter Drayton Wines, located on Hermitage Road in Pokolbin, will host its annual Stomp next month.
And, it’s an event not to be missed, according to the man in question.
“We started Stomp more than a decade ago,” the vineyard owner said.
“Originally, it was a fun thing for a few close friends and wine club members.
“Now, it’s an entity of its own.
“We grow the grapes around the cellar door, specifically for Stomp, and once they are picked, it is in the bin, shoes off and Bob’s your uncle.”
Given the past 18 months, due to a pesky virus called COVID-19, locals and visitors alike could be excused for seeking a bit of frivolity.
And, apart from stomping the grapes, you can also participate in grape picking and bottling the wine.
Even better, enjoy a sumptuous buffet lunch, paired with sparkling wine and craft beer, too.
“There’s something for everyone – it’s very family-friendly,” Mr Drayton said.
“Bring the kids along as well.
“There’ll be contests, games and lots of prizes to be won.
“For the children, we’ll have a jumping castle, face painting and other activities.
“On top of that, every ticket sold comes with a free goodie bag, T-shirt and drink tokens.”
All the merriment begins at 11am and continues until 4pm.
Tickets – $120 (adult) and $40 (children) – are available from www.stickytickets.com.au/num7y/stomp.aspx
Kids under the age of five will be admitted free.
