Something for everyone at Olive Tree Christmas Market Festival

SHARE

Following the recent success of The Olive Tree Market’s return, Newcastle’s most-anticipated Christmas bazaar since 2008 is back on the calendar.

The Olive Tree Christmas Market Festival will be staged at Civic Park on Saturday 4 December from 9am until 2pm.

“We were absolutely overwhelmed, and incredibly grateful, for the support our lovely visitors and supporters showed by coming out in such large numbers for our reappearance [in November],” founder Justine Gaudry said.

“It demonstrated how much Newcastle loves the amazing local creative community that we have built over the past 13 years.

“It also shows how important coming together at community events is as we emerge out of COVID-19.”

In just less than a week, more than 150 artists, designers and boutique food producers will join forces at Civic Park for the Olive Tree Christmas Market Festival.

“Gather your family, friends and market buddies, bring your shopping totes,” Ms Gaudry said.

“Even the fur family is invited, too.

“If there was ever a time to support local, handmade and makers of ethically-created goods, this is the year.

“Our Australian artists, designers and producers will be so grateful for your support.

“On top of that, your loved ones will receive stunning goods created with love and care this festive season.”

Ms Gaudry said many of the participants created unique goods, especially for Christmas.

“A collective of the creatives are also making ‘one market only’ special guest appearance on Saturday,” she added.

“We know locals love the Christmas market as it’s the perfect time to pick up delicious gourmet foods, created by our boutique producers, for Christmas hampers and festive celebrations.

“So, I hope to see everyone there this weekend.”

On 4 December, the entrances to Olive Tree will be at the top of Civic Park on Darby Street and near the crossing on King Street, Newcastle.
