Step onto the vibrant streets of New York City’s East Village, where dreams are born, friendships are tested, and the power of love prevails.

Featuring the iconic songs Seasons of Love, Take Me or Leave Me and La Vie Bohème, this groundbreaking sensation is more than a musical; it’s a celebration of life, love and the human spirit.

Rent opens on 15 March with performances at 7.30pm (Friday), 2pm and 7.30pm (Saturday), and 1pm and 6pm (Sunday).

Director Shaun Rennie, musical director Andrew Worboys and choreographer Luca Dinardo have assembled some of Australia’s finest singer/actors for an all-new production of this iconic musical.

Noah Mullins (West Side Story) plays the role of Mark, a struggling documentary filmmaker and best friend of Roger, an HIV-positive musician recovering from heroin addiction, played by Jerrod Smith (The Lovers).

Martha Berhane (Hamilton) is Mimi, a reckless and passionate exotic dancer who lives only for today.

The Voice 2023 finalist Calista Nelmes (Jersey Boys NZ) portrays spirited performance artist Maureen, Mark’s ex-girlfriend and current girlfriend of Joanne, a tough, headstrong Harvard-educated lawyer played by Australia’s First Lady of Soul and R&B, and The Voice 2022 grand finalist, THNDO (Dreamgirls).

LIVE at the Levee Street Party

The LIVE at The Levee Street Party is scheduled to take place in The Levee Shared Zone on Saturday 23 March from 5.30pm to 9.30pm.

And, the latest edition features two very talented acts and chilled brews courtesy of Dusty Miner Craft Brewery, while food will be available from some of the best restaurants and cafes that The Levee has to offer.

From 5.30pm, be entertained by Acacia Blue, a five-piece indie pop rock band best known for its upbeat, coming of age style of music.

The band draws inspiration from artists including Paramore, Taylor Swift and The Wombats, among others.

LIVE at The Levee is free to attend and no tickets are required.  

LIMBO – The Return Spiegeltent Newcastle

The creative producers of the critically-acclaimed Blanc de Blanc, The Party and, of course, LIMBO, present the latest incarnation.

The original award-winning LIMBO, which wowed audiences from Brussels to Bogota, is back, reimagined and more jaw-dropping than ever before.

An intoxicating mix of cabaret, circus, acrobatics and ecstatic heart-pounding live music, LIMBO – The Return is set to seduce Newcastle audiences again from April to May.

Meet a cast of world-renowned circus performers and prolific musicians; led by NY’s Jank maestro Sxip Shirey, alongside maverick musicians Grant Arthur and Mick Stuart. Joining them is Bulgaria’s stunning aerialist Maria Moncheva (Harry Potter – Germany); French gravity-defying Chinese pole master, Mikael Bres; Australian acrobatic dance sensation Hilton Denis; Spanish acrobat and slack rope daredevil David Marco; the UK’s rope virtuoso Ben Loader, and seductive fire eating singer Clara Fable.
