Sir Peter Cosgrove to land in Maitland


One of Australia’s most decorated soldiers, General Sir Peter Cosgrove is bringing his book tour to Maitland.

The event is a part of Maitland Libraries’ popular Look Who’s Talking Program.

Having won the Military Cross, served as Governor General and Chief of the Australian Defence Force, along with being recognised for his role in rebuilding after the devastation of Cyclone Larry, Sir Peter is admired by many.

On Thursday 26 November at 6pm he will be joined by journalist Scott Bevan, to provide an insight into his extraordinary life and his new memoir, You Shouldn’t Have Joined at Reading Cinemas Maitland.

Manager of Libraries and Learning Keryl Collard says the town is honoured to host the event.

“Sir Peter is one of Australia’s most remarkable public figures and this is a great opportunity to hear about his eventful life, as well as connect with each other as a community in a COVID Safe way,” she says.

Tickets are $27.50 with book sales also available on the night.
