Pop Up Art Space

Young children and their families can enjoy simple art activities guided by friendly art museum educators at the Art Space Pop Up this weekend.

On Sunday 27 February it will be at Lake Macquarie’s Museum of Art and Culture, yapang from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.

Dullboys Carnival

On Sunday 27 February from 11am until 3pm, the Dullboys Carnival will amaze attendees with a live roaming circus, a jumping castle, face painting and more. Entry into the event is free but activities and food will cost extra.

Live Laneways

There will be magic, monsters and more to be found at The Levee this weekend.

Something exciting will be hiding in the laneways near Drill Hall Lane.

Charity Barbeque

Support Survivor’s R Us this weekend at a Bunnings Sausage Sizzle on Saturday 26 February.

Hosted from 9am to 4pm at Bunnings Glendale (Corner of T C Frith Avenue and Munibung Road, Boolaroo), the event will raise funds for the local charity that helps not only Survivors of domestic violence but anyone in the community that is in need of assistance.

Port Stephens Pro

The 2022 Gage Roads Port Stephens Pro surfing series is returning to the region from Sunday 27 February until Tuesday 1 March.

The three-day World Surf League Qualifying Series even will bring more than 150 of the country’s best surfers to Birubi Beach.

Civic Cinema

A film version of the popular Kinky Boots Musical will screen at the Civic Theatre on Friday 25 February from 7.30pm.

The film follows a feisty drag queen and her attempts to rescue a show factory by designing fabulous footwear.

Veronica’s Room

Veronica’s Room is a psychological thriller from the author of Rosemary’s Baby and Deathtrap that explores the thin line between fantasy and reality.

Students Susan and Larry find themselves enticed to an old New England mansion by its dissolute caretakers to meet Cissie, the sole surviving member of the family. They insist that Susan bears a striking resemblance to Veronica, Cissie’s long dead sister.

If she will agree to briefly impersonate Veronica, they believe it will comfort the dementia-afflicted Cissie and allow her to die in peace. But what begins as a simple act of kindness quickly spirals into a nightmare cycle of guilt, sacrifice, and murder.

The Maitland Repertory Theatre will bring the play to life on Friday at 7.30pm.
