Free Family Fun Day

Enjoy a free end of season splash at Cessnock Pool, Branxton Pool or Kurri Kurri Aquatic and Fitness Centre this Sunday 27 March. Residents will gain free entry into the pools from 10am until 4pm.

Everyone is invited to come along to celebrate the end of the summer season.

Fashion Frenzy

Bag a bargain this Saturday 26 March at the Dress for Success Fashion Frenzy.

From 9am until 12pm hundreds of pre-loved items will be on sale at the Showroom Carpark (116a Belford Street, Broadmeadow).

There are no change rooms and all items are $5.

Hunter Memory Walk and Jog

This Sunday the Hunter Memory Walk and Jog is returning to Speers Point Park. The event is Dementia Australia’s biggest fundraising initiative.

There are still spots available for the 2km, 8km or timed 8km course, so don’t miss out on your opportunity to register for this fun-filled day out, for an important cause.

Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival

Polish your cars, shine your shoes and get out your best dresses, the Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival will be rocking and rolling back into town this weekend.

Celebrating all the good things from the 1950’s – rock n roll music, dancing, classic cars, vintage clothing and good old fashioned fun, organisers promise there’ll be something for everyone.

Sunday Sessions

Grab a wine or beer and enjoy some music and art-making at the Museum of Art and Culture on Sunday.

Fashion Parade

The Anglican Parish of Beresfield/Thornton is hosting a fashion parade on Saturday 26 March from 1.30pm.

The fashions are by Donna Lou and donations of $10 include afternoon tea and Lucky door.

Book launch

On Saturday 26 March two local authors – Emily S Smith and Sharon J Boyce – will host a launch party for their new books at Unit 1, 10 Pipeclay Avenue, Thornton.

From 10.30am until 2.30pm the duo will talk about There’s a Shark at my School and Kora Kerplunk’s Travelling Tongue.

At the event there will also be games, craft, prizes, and more.

Hunter authors Sharon J. Boyce and Emily S. Smith will be celebrating the joint launch of their third books with Larrikin House, ‘There’s a Shark at my School’ and ‘Kora Kerplunk’s Travelling Tongue’ later this month.
