We naturally assume that having more money is the key to a happier and healthier retirement.
But research shows that another factor can make a big difference: the type of community in which we live.
Ingenia Lifestyle recently conducted a resident survey that found 90 per cent of residents had a positive, or very positive, outlook on life.
Just over half said they regularly attended Ingenia social events, and 91 per cent said they felt a sense of connection within the Ingenia community.
See how community living can benefit your lifestyle at the Ingenia Lifestyle Sunnylake Shores Summer Open Day on Saturday 13 February.

Many retirees view downsizing as simply moving from a larger home to a smaller one.
A free seminar, coming to Medowie, will feature guest speaker and downsizing expert Rachel Lane, as well as a panel of experts, who will unpack the commonly held myths and provide valuable tips for local seniors.
The seminar is hosted by Principle Living. Jeff McCloy, one of Principle Living’s Founding Directors, said the company warmly encourages local retirees to come along and find out more from renowned industry experts so they can make informed plans about downsizing.
“Given the current real estate market in Medowie we have seen extraordinary demand in our residential developments and strong interest in our new retirement village, Blueheath at The Bower.”
Mr McCloy sees the popularity of regional areas located near major urban centres, like Newcastle, as a direct impact of changed work conditions prompted by the pandemic in 2020.
Families are relocating out of Sydney and bringing a new wave of potential buyers to the region who are looking at larger homes for growing families, providing a buoyant seller’s market for those looking to downsize.
“We believe the attraction of the area with its proximity to beaches, vineyards, everyday shopping and health services, has prompted a number of seniors to think about downsizing in Medowie, but they may be unaware of the options available to them,” Mr McCloy said.
The free seminar is on Thursday 11 March. Principle Living indicated bookings are essential before Monday 8 March as numbers are limited.
