An investigation is underway following the tragic death of a motorcycle rider in Rutherford on Tuesday evening.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Denton Park Drive and Kerry Circle about 5.30pm on 23 June.
Officers attached to Port Stephens-Hunter Police District, NSW Ambulance paramedics and several Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) personnel attended the scene.
On arrival, they found a motorbike and a Toyota SUV had collided.
The rider – a 33-year-old man – was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital.
But, sadly, he died on arrival.
The driver – a 59-year-old woman – was uninjured during the incident and taken to Maitland Hospital for mandatory testing.
Police are now looking into the cause of the accident.
