REAL ESTATE: Land in newest Hunter Valley township sells out in hours

SHARE

It took just four hours for the Huntlee Mega Land Release to sell out of all of its 125 lots on the weekend.

After opening its doors to buyers at 10am on Saturday, 19 June, the sales team for the newest town in the Hunter Valley, was inundated with clients desperate to enter a competitive real estate market.

Located minutes from wineries and 50 minutes from Newcastle, the region’s latest land development boasts lots ranging in price from $180,000 to $450,000.

Huntlee sales director Robert Crane said the weekend sales result was testament to the popularity of the first new town to be built in the Hunter in more than 50 years.

“Each time we release a new stage, it is snapped up in no time,” he said.

“To make the playing field as level as possible, this time we decided to try something different, releasing three stages at once on a first come, first served basis.

“As far as we are aware, this was the largest single land release in the Hunter’s history.

“By 8am, when we started handing out the price list (which had been kept under wraps up until that point), we had more than 150 groups lined up, ready to take their chances.

“That number continued to grow, exceeding 200 by the time we opened the doors and started selling at 10am.

“As the clocked ticked 2pm, the ink dried on the final agreement – all 125 sales were completed in four hours.”

Vanessa Matthews from The Entrance is thrilled to have been successful in securing a block at the Hunter Valley’s newest town.

Huntlee is a master-planned community that will eventually comprise four neighbourhood villages surrounding a 200 hectare town centre.

In total, it will boast 7500 dwellings and be home to approximately 20,000 residents, making it comparable in size to Singleton.

Mr Crane says he expects increasing demand for the township’s lots.

“Those [buyers] on the list will be prioritised in the same order in which they lined up on Saturday and will be given first choice of the lots in our next release,” he said.

“The great thing about Huntlee is that the next release won’t be far off.

“Given our fully master planned town will eventually comprise more than 7500 lots, we can literally produce new stages as the market demands.”
