Raptor Squad North personnel have seized firearms, ammunition and drugs following raids in Lake Macquarie and on the Central Coast.
Following inquiries, via Strike Force Bancroft in relation to the Nomads Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG), officers conducted firearm prohibition order (FPOs) compliance checks at several homes in Halekulani and Cameron Park.
As a result, they located ammunition and a commercial quantity of prohibited drugs.
Then, about 9.30am on Tuesday 3 February, officers were notified of a single vehicle crash on the Pacific Highway, San Remo, where a man was seen running from the scene with a black bag.
With the assistance of the Dog Squad, they searched the area.
And, they eventually found two black bags, allegedly containing a case with two pistols and a large amount of methylamphetamine and MDMA.
A short time later, Raptor Squad North conducted a crime scene warrant at a premises in San Remo.
Officers allegedly seized seven more firearms, ammunition, prohibited drugs, two pill presses, drug paraphernalia and about $6,500 cash.
Following extensive inquires, detectives returned to the property about 10am on Wednesday 4 February and arrested a 24-year-old man.
He was taken to Wyong Police Station and charged with:
- Two counts of supply prohibited drug large commercial quantity
- Supply prohibited drug commercial quantity
- Two counts of possess tablet press or drug encapsulator
- Knowingly deal with proceeds of crime
- Possess prohibited drug
- Two counts of possess unregistered firearm-pistol
- Two counts of possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority
- Possess unregistered firearm-prohibited firearm
- Three counts of possess unregistered firearm-not pistol/prohibited firearm
- Possess three unregistered firearms, one is prohibited/pistol
- Three counts of use, supply, acquire, possess stolen firearm or part
After being refused bail, he’ll appear before Bail Division Local Court 6 on Thursday 5 February.
