Proud, passionate litigator among team at Conrad Curry Law

Lucy Wilk first gained insight into medical negligence litigation at the Supreme Court of NSW in 2009.

After witnessing trials first-hand and seeing the devastating impact that it can have on claimants, Lucy has since handled and settled hundreds of cases.

Some of these cases involved meningitis, sepsis, genetic testing, obstetrics, gynaecology, skin cancer, emergency medicine, breast cancer, chemotherapy, brain aneurysm, stroke, aged care, and cosmetic and plastic surgery.

In December 2020, Lucy joined The Law Office of Conrad Curry as a Senior Associate, citing its fine reputation for providing professional and client-focused legal services, as well as the many years of experience held by other legal practitioners at the firm in medical negligence, as primary reasons behind her decision.

Lucy said she took pride in helping to transform the lives of people who had been negatively impacted, often devastatingly so, by failings in the health system.

“For many clients, monetary compensation is not their prime motivation for bringing legal action,” she said.

“Often, clients want answers as to why things went so wrong and also want to do what they can to prevent other patients suffering the same poor outcome.

“I find it very satisfying assisting clients with these very important objectives in conjunction with achieving the best possible outcomes in terms of compensation.”

Lucy is kind, compassionate, empathetic and an excellent listener, while she’s been told on many occasions that she explains complex legal and medical concepts in a way that is clear and easy to understand.

When advocating for clients and dealing with the lawyers engaged by the insurers for doctors and hospitals, she is determined, forthright, strategic, cost-effective, and persuasive.

Lucy is part of a talented and growing team at The Law Office of Conrad Curry.
