Popular Cessnock event ‘stomped’ out in 2024

One of Cessnock’s most popular attractions, Stomp, has been scratched off the events calendar in 2024.

The festival, which offers a fun-filled day with music, delicious food stalls, family-friendly activities and a vibrant community atmosphere, is now expected to return on Sunday 6 April in 2025.

It’s understood the decision was made, after careful consideration, to avoid conflicting with another major event in the LGA.

The Cessnock Stomp Festival Committee and Cessnock Business Chamber (CBC) are committed to ensuring the success of both extravaganzas and believe the reschedule allows locals and visitors alike to fully enjoy each unique experience.

“While there has been an approved DA (development application) for the Cessnock Stomp Festival for our regular weekend, the committee feels it is in the best interests of our town to see both events run on separate weekends,” CBC president Sarah Pascoe said.

“We understand this news may come as a disappointment to some.

“However, we strongly believe this move will benefit the Cessnock community in the long run.

“By ensuring the Postie Bike GP and Cessnock Stomp Festival have ample space on the calendar, both events can thrive and deliver the best possible experience for everyone.

“The Cessnock Business Chamber apologises for any inconvenience caused by the reschedule.

“We are committed to making the 2025 Cessnock Stomp Festival the biggest and best yet.”

More information about next year’s event, including the line-up and ticketing details, will be available in the coming months.
