A police raid on a Cardiff storage facility this week resulted in the seizure of weapons, including a Luger pistol, and ammunition.

Detectives executed the search warrant as investigations continue into public place shootings allegedly involving members of the Nomads Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMG) in the Hunter region.

During the evening of Tuesday 8 March, police attended a premises at Edgeworth in response to a home invasion.

The occupant, a 24-year-old woman, was seriously injured.

Then, about 9.10pm on Friday 8 April, emergency services responded to reports of a public place shooting at a carpark on Arnott Street, Edgeworth.

A 27-year-old male was found suffering gunshot wounds to the right leg.

Both the man and woman were taken to hospital but have since been released.

Detectives from Lake Macquarie Police District started investigations into both incidents under Strike Force Undola.

And, as part of ongoing investigations, they executed a search warrant at a storage facility in Cardiff on Thursday 12 August.

There, it will be alleged, police located a gun, parts for a SKS semi-automatic rifle and a pump action shot gun, two 30-round magazines and a machete.

Officers also conducted a vehicle stop at Blackalls Park.

Clothing associated with the Nomads OMG was seized along with two boxes containing a large amount of ammunition.

Inquiries are continuing.
