Police are appealing for public assistance after a man was allegedly assaulted at a park in Newcastle on Tuesday night.
Officers attached to Newcastle City PD were notified of an incident at Braye Park, in Waratah, about 9pm on 10 March.
It’s understood two males exited a vehicle and assaulted another, aged in his 60s, before driving from the scene in an unknown direction.
Although the injured man did not require medical treatment, he still sustained minor lacerations and bruising.
He then contacted emergency services and immediately drove to Waratah Police Station to report the matter.
Newcastle City PD is now investigating the incident.
As inquiries continue, officers wish to speak with the driver and occupants of a white GWM utility seen in the area at the time.
Anyone with information, CCTV or relevant dashcam footage is also urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
