Police launch investigation after truck catches fire on M1

SHARE

Police are currently investigating a truck crash, which caused major delays on the M1 Motorway overnight.

Emergency services were called to Morisset about 11.30pm on Sunday 9 November following reports a semi-trailer struck a guard rail and caught alight.

Fire & Rescue NSW (FRNSW) personnel extinguished the fire and are working to contain a diesel spill.

Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

It’s understood the southbound lanes of the M1 have been closed and diversions are in place.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and delay non-essential travel.
