Police launch investigation after body pulled from Hunter River

Police have launched an investigation after a person’s body was pulled from the Hunter River at Morpeth at the weekend.

Emergency services were called to Queens Wharf Road just after 3pm on Sunday 13 April.

It followed reports a body had been sighted floating in the river.

Personnel eventually removed it from the water about 4.15pm.

Officers from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District are now investigating the circumstances of the incident.
