Port Stephens-Hunter Police District is appealing for public assistance as it investigates an alleged sexual assault in Shoal Bay.
It’s understood a woman was attacked by an unknown man about 2am on Sunday 1 June as she walked along Shoal Bay Road near Government Road.
Thankfully, she was able to flee before attending hospital.
Local detectives – assisted by the State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad – started inquiries under Strike Force Bundanoon.
They’ve now released the description of a man who might be able to assist them with the enquiries.
It’s believed he may be about 50, 180cm-185cm tall, of chubby build, and was wearing a grey hoodie with black pants.
Police urge anyone who may have been in the area at the time, or who has dashcam footage of the incident, to contact Crime Stoppers.
