SHARE

Police are appealing for information following two serious property offences, including the theft of firearms, in Lake Macquarie last month.

The first offence occurred between 10pm on Tuesday 23 June and 2.30am on Wednesday June 26, when unknown people forced entry to a home on Barbers Road, Cooranbong.

Several items, including five registered firearms, power tools and an orange Holden Colarado, were stolen from the property.

Then, at approximately 4am on Wednesday 24 June, emergency services were called to another property on Barbers Road after reports of a vehicle fire.

Police established that two individuals approached a parked SUV before it burst into flames.

The vehicle was destroyed and crime scenes at both locations were established and an investigation commenced by Lake Macquarie detectives.

CCTV footage from the area shows a small white sedan and a white Ford Ranger travelling on Barbers Road, before and after the incidents.

The footage also showed three people in the vicinity of the homes.

With inquiries into both incidents continuing, police are calling for anyone who can identify the people or vehicles seen in the area to come forward.

Anyone who witnessed the incidents, or who may have dash cam footage from Babers Road between 10pm Tuesday 23 June and 4 am on Wednesday 24 June 2026, is urged to contact Lake Macquarie Detectives on 02 4922 8899 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
